浴室の風水1 『プライベート感保ち 清潔に』
ロンジェ琉球風水アカデミー、学長の横川明子です。
琉球王朝時代は、当然ですが、電気・水道・ガスの無い時代です。水は井戸で汲み、お風呂は無く、井戸端で行水をしました。このような暮らしにも風水が関係しています。今回は、琉球民家の浴室について、ご紹介します。
琉球民家の水回り～排水の良さと湿気対策
井戸は、基本的に母屋から見て、右斜め前方にありました。この位置は、外から入ってくる際、ヒンプンから左側の動線にあり、プライベート空間です。来客の動線には当たらず、また客間である一番座の座敷からは見えない位置になっています。琉球民家の敷地を立体的にみると、家の背後である北側と一番座のある東側の敷地が高く、家の前面である南側や西側の敷地が低くなっていました。水はけが良く、雨水や生活排水が母屋の下を通らないように配慮されています。
古民家の風水を現代住宅に生かすポイント
現代住宅では、浴室がプライベート空間に配置され、来客の動線や視線を気にする必要がないかをチェックします。視線や動線が気になるようなら、パーテーションや観葉植物などを置いて、プライベート感が保たれるよう対処します。排水の良さと湿気対策が重要ですので、排水口の清浄化や浴室使用後の湿気対策が、快適さを保つポイントとなります。
健康運と愛情運に影響
浴室を人体に例えると、腎臓や膀胱などの泌尿器や生殖器に相当するため、健康運、愛情運に影響するとされています。また、玄関（口）から住宅に入った財運の出て行く場所でもあります。琉球民家のエッセンスを取り入れて、快適な空間をつくることで、浴室に影響のある運勢アップを期待できます。さらに、アロマの香りや、目に映るものに美しいアイティムを選んでいくことで、心も身体も癒される空間づくりをしていきましょう。次回は、アロマ活用した具体的なお掃除法やバスタイムの楽しみ方をお話します。

できるだけ置いておくものは少なく
モノの多さは、掃除などのメンテナンス作業に最も影響を与えます。水にぬれたままのシャンプーやトリートメントなどのボトルを放置すると、カビ、ぬめりや臭いの原因になります。浴室内で使うものは厳選して、本当に使うものだけを置くことで、雑菌や悪臭の原因になるものが減り、お掃除も楽になります。

立教大学大学院異文化コミュニケーション研究科修了（修士）。現在、沖縄国際大学経済学部地域環境政策学科にて、これから世界へ羽ばたこうとする学生を対象に、琉球風水・地域文化、異文化コミュニケーションを学ぶ「グローカルセミナー」を講義。
また、琉球風水の知見を現代空間に応用する専門家「風水空間デザイナー®」としても活動し、主宰する「ロンジェ琉球風水アカデミー」では実践と学術をつなぐ教育を展開している。
2022年には著書『風水空間デザインの教科書』（ガイアブックス）を出版。
さらに、首里城復興イベント「木曳式」では、沖縄県より公式認定を受けイベントを開催し、60秒イメージ映像を制作。沖縄タイムスなどの新聞・雑誌への寄稿や講演活動を通じて、琉球風水の文化的価値と現代的意義を広く発信している。
東京都世田谷区出身で、かつてはJARTIC日本道路交通情報センターでキャスターを務めた経歴も持つ。趣味はスクーバダイビングとトレッキング。自然と対話しながら、土地の「気」を感じる時間を大切にしている。

浴室内のインテリアも美しく
基本的に全てオープンラックため、シャンプーやトリートメントなど、置いておくものは「見せるもの」であることを意識して選びます。機能的に気に入っていても、見た目が気に入らない場合は、美しい詰め替えボトルなどを活用しましょう。
